Rationale[edit]

The behavior is always the same: the user uploads the same pictures deleted before, most of them related to Uberlândia. Now he or they uploads the pictures on Flickr as "self made" even though they are copyrighted pictures from several different sources. He uses several tricks to make it difficult to identify the images like cutting pictures, making animated gifs, change a little bit the colours and many other kinds of derivative works on copyrighted pictures. He was already banned on Skyscrapercity (which is where he steals a lot of pictures from). He also get his pictures on Flickr, Panoramio, Photobucket and many other sites. Just search for Uberlandia and you will find out a lot of copyrighted pictures he (or they) uploaded. We cannot assume good faith because the user uploads on flickr copyrighted images from other websites claiming they are his, when in fact they are not. And it is not the first time. From my viewpoint the behaviour alone is enough. Probably should be blocked on sight if what you is say is true. --Herby talk thyme 13:11, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sure, Herby, we'll at least block the obvious ones. I was actually hoping that the CU's could identify a (hopefully narrow) IP range and that we could then block that range for good. This guy keeps coming back, and it's always the same story: he goes undetected for a while and we have to clean up after him. Every couple of months the same. Results[edit]

  •  Comment and after a first quick look. The "quick" answer seems to be that there is no quick answer. Most of the contributions are out of time from a CU perspective. Those that are not show some connection - Baddin & Guzzzz show some similar if not an exact connection. To me it looks like one of those which can probably be blocked on behaviour alone. Other CUs may well wish to comment. Thanks --Herby talk thyme 10:57, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Based on technical evidence, the following are Likely:

  • Baddin
    • Arthur Nunes
    • Guzzzz
    • Some IP edits

Stale with respect to the other named users. Obvious socks could be blocked on editing patterns if someone has time enough to examine them in detail.

I've blocked the users I named, and any further usernames can be blocked on behaviour or brought here if necessary. A rangeblock would not be advised.  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 19:54, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
